DEATHROCK

Death rock emerged from punk rock in the early 1980s and mixes elements of goth rock and horror punk.

The rhythm is generally very dynamic and repetitive, with instruments like bass, drums, and guitar. The lyrics generally evoke surrealist themes, or themes more related to feelings (sadness, disillusion, isolation, death...). The sounds are generally more aggressive and less "clean" than goth rock.
A main band of the genre is Christian Death.
